uncc offers up its walls for a juried student exhibition

SHUTTER 2012
Third Annual Juried Student Photography Exhibition
Sponsored by the Art of Light Photography Club at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte.

CALL FOR ENTRIES
Shutter is an open call of all photo-based works to all 
Undergraduate and graduate college students in the Southeast region.  
All content and photographic media is welcome 
(alternative processes, traditional black andwhite, and/or digital methods, etc.). 
No entry fee!

JUROR--Antonio Martinez
Antonio teaches photography at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. 
He attended Creighton University, where he earned a BFA in painting and 
then pursued an MFA in photography atEast Carolina University. 
His Near the Egress video has been shown in over 25 international and national festivals 
and was featured in PDN magazine in 2010 and on platestopixels.com.

IMPORTANT DATES
·      Deadline for Submission: December 10, 2011 (extended from the 7th!)
·      Entries to arrive at the gallery: December 20th-January 6th
·      Opening of Show: January 13th
·      Reception Date: January 18th
·      Juror Lecture: January 18, 7pm at UNC Charlotte
·      Closing of Show: February 7th

SUBMISSION DETAILS
·      Submissions will only be accepted by email to shuttersubmit@gmail.com.
·      Submit jpegs, sized 7 inches on the shortest end at 72 DPI.
·      File should be named by artists first and last name and numbered (ex: AmandaJohnson_1.jpg)
·      Email with jpgs must include the following information:         
                  *Name, Address, Email, Phone Number & University Currently Attending
                  *For each entry provide Title, Size Framed, Materials/Methods Used & Insurance Value
·      Entries that are incomplete, or not up to the standard of the submission will be disqualified.
·      Limit of five entries per person
·      Additional instructions will be sent to artists included in exhibition.
·      Students included in the show will be responsible for matting and framing 
                  the work on a professional level and will be responsible for the cost of shipping to and from UNCC.

·      Provided by donations from Kickstarter.
·      TBA

THE ART OF LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB
Founded in 1993, the ALPC was designed to promote photography 
at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as well as the greater Charlotte community. 
The ALPC provides students interested in photography with a social network 
and opportunities to experience workshops, lectures, conferences and photographing excursions.
